Little ol’ me + CrossFit.
About time, don’t ya think? I’ve only been talking about it for months.
And… I liked it. I like it a LOT. I think I may have a crush.
For those of you who are curious about CrossFit and want to try, but are terrified… Well, let me tell you – I never, ever thought I’d say that I enjoyed lifting heavy stuff and doing things like high knees, but I mean it. When Penpal had originally suggested I try it back when we were dating (he was an avid CrossFitter as are many of his buddies), I thought he was insane. I’m a yoga, running kind of girl…… Not a throw around double my body weight til I want to puke kind of girl. You know?
But back to last night: I was scared. I was sweating before we even started (always a good sign). Flashbacks from my intro class in July crept back in to my head. And did I mention I was hungry, too?
But then…… BOOM. Box jumps and squats? BRING IT ON.
Granted I was just in day one of my beginners’ two week program, but there’s something about it that I really enjoyed (the music.. the awesome coaches.. the intensity..?) and I’m stoked to get back to the box (what they refer to a CrossFit gym as) tomorrow night. Did I really just say that?
Let’s see if my IT band and quads appreciates it later today.
