Working Out On the Injured List

Oh heeeello!

Although I already gleefully mentioned it on Facebook yesterday, I wanted to thank you all again for helping me get selected by the Washingtonian Magazine’s Well+Being blog as one of D.C.’s top 9 fitness bloggers!photo (41) I was notified yesterday via Twitter, and it came as a complete surprise. Heck, I barely even consider myself a fitness blogger (more a hot mess/random healthy lifestyle blogger?), so I was especially touched. Thank you a million times over!

In light of that special recognition, I figured I ought to make good on the title and actually, I don’t know, post a workout! I’ve been feeling…………. well, like a big lump on a log, if you want the honest truth, with this whole “Don’t overdo it!” and “No, you can’t run or spin or even do yoga yet, you nut-job” orders my foot doctor gave me last week. So, I’ve taken matters into my own hands, because heck – there are a few exercises I can do in the meantime, so it’s time to get moving!crutches workout2

This workout is helpful even if you AREN’T coming back from injury, and just plain ol’ haven’t gotten around to the gym yet. I’m proof you can do it with one slightly gimpy foot, in the comfort of your own home (assuming you have a pair of dumbbells or heavy soup cans at your disposal).

Get your sweat on!

This is a seriously great reminder…I’m way too easy on myself when I don’t feel like working out. Have to push through it, right? Thanks for the workout, and congrats on being recognized!

Congrats on making the Washingtonian list – that’s fantastic! 🙂 What an awesome way to brighten up the mid-week slump, yeah?

And I love the workout set – I’m going to have to bust some of that out when I get home from work tonight.
