Ch-ch-changes

Hey guys! I’m headed back from California today, and thought it was an appropriate time to share some news I’m REALLY excited about.

Are you sitting down?

I’m moving cross-country in July!

It’s finally time for me to tell the nation’s capital au revoir, and thank you. Back to the west coast I go, soon as I pack up my running shorts and pancake griddle… and, you know, give or take a few other items. 😉

More details will be shared eventually, but I wanted to let this secret out since most of my days have spent balancing boxes, bubble wrap, and packing tape while simultaneously selling half my life on Craig’s List (uh, except for the time while I’ve been on the beach these last few days desperately hoping for a tan).  I’m sure you guys totally saw this coming, especially after the crazy last 12 months you’ve gotten to share with me. It all comes full circle.

Oh, and listen to this song – just insert D.C. for Manhattan.

You can have Manhattan
I know it’s for the best
I’ll gather up the avenues
And leave them on your doorstep
And I’ll tiptoe away
So you won’t have to say
You heard me leave

You can have Manhattan
I know it’s what you want
The bustle and the buildings
The weather in the fall
And I’ll bow out of place
To save you some space
For somebody new

….

And so it goes
One foot after the other
Til black and white begin to color in
And I know
That holding us in place
Is simply fear of what’s already changed

Ahhhhh

You can have Manhattan
I’ll settle for the beach
And sunsets facing westward
With sand beneath my feet…

…2013, the year of yes – told ya.
