Or as I like to call it – T-minus two days til I’m a west coast resident again. 😉
I had a farewell happy hour on Friday, and the moving truck is arriving THIS morning (!!). All my stuff is currently packed up and ready to go.
It’s really sort of surreal, you guys. I’ve been in D.C. almost four years (and the east coast 6 total, from grad school!), and although I’m oh so ready for a change and to be closer to my family, it’s still hard to believe such a big change is happening right now. It doesn’t quite feel real yet, although I’m sure I’ll change my tune soon as the movers start hauling my belongings outside. Let’s hope all my boxes hold up… I got over bubble wrapping real quick about two minutes into wrapping my drinking glasses and mugs, so I’m not too confident with how things are going to emerge once the boxes are dropped off at my doorstep in San Diego.
Oh, but I do have one tip to share! In case any of you are moving soon as well: put your long, dangly necklaces in separate, plastic sandwich baggies.
Cue the violin.
You guys know how strongly I feel about brunch.
Justine and I headed to Commissary in Logan Circle, which is one of my favorite brunch spots in D.C. The best pancakes in town, yo! This time I actually had chicken salad and some pita since I’d already had a big breakfast after my run that morning, but it was delicious nonetheless.
Eh, I know. Chicken salad with cranberries + walnuts doesn’t quite photograph all that well… it was delicious though!
And now I’m off to watch the movers do their thang. Have a great day!
How was your weekend?
