My Half Marathon Playlist

First off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to one of my favorite people on the planet and bride-to-be, my best friend Meg. 🙂

Okay! In case you guys are looking for some new tunes to spice up your workouts (or loooong runs), I thought I’d share my playlist from Sunday’s half marathon!

I had the most amazing time at this race and know music played a role in keeping me moving along without any mid-run bonking. I literally started run-dancing and singing aloud at certain moments (cue “Dog Days Are Over,” aka song #31).

May I present my “13.1, BOOM!!!” playlist (I may get overly excited naming iTunes playlists and writing the subject lines of emails….nerd alert):Half Playlist Aug2013.jpg

I LOVED every second of my playlist and it kept me bopping along for 2 hours and 9 minutes (!!! <–stoked about that – just got the official time yesterday). I hope you like it too!

Please note this playlist is actually double the length of the excerpt I’m showing, but I crossed the finish line when Lady Gaga (song #34) came on. I had padded my playlist with {a lot of} extra songs just in case something freakish happened and I was somehow on the course for 3.5 hours, or hated the first 20 songs I’d added. You never know, folks.

And my race recap is coming very, very soon, promise! I have approximately a gajillion photos to sort through.

Happy Thursday!

What’s your favorite new workout song? Some of my personal favs from the above were “Gold Rush” and “Royals” (my new jam), and I always love anything by the Lumineers and Of Monsters and Men

That happens to me too – I end up listening to my favs on repeat until I’m sick of them.
