Hello! How is everyone’s Friday so far?
Here in D.C., we are in one big puddle.
Thanks Mother Nature, you floozy. She has made sure September on the east coast was sufficiently humid and wet.
But today’s Thankful Friday, so let’s just get it started with some positive thinking, mmmk?
So, rewind: Thanks Mother Nature! I love my umbrella and am so glad it’s getting a lot of use this month!
I’m thankful it’s the first day of Autumn, even though walking through the rain has me feeling a lot like Cupcake after a long day at pre-school.
Doesn't she look like she's on a walk of shame?
So not impressed.
But autumn is my second favorite season, and I love all the pretty leaves, slightly cooler temps (SLIGHTLY, Mother Nature!) that ensure sweatpants-wearing, boots, and pumpkin pie. Bring it on.
I’m thankful that Penpal gave me a scooper so that I could finally create my very first protein shake today!
1 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk, Chocolate Sun Warrior, a spoonful of almond butter, and a few ice cubes, all shaken up.
But alas this badboy did not fill me up.
Not at all.
Any idea what I did wrong? Maybe it needed more oomph?
I also realized while texting Penpal this morning that I maybe did the whole protein shake wrong… as I drank like a fun liquid breakfast, not having worked out one bit this morning prior to slurping it down.
What? I imagined it being like chocolate Nesquik.
And that protein shake photo reminds me…
I’m thankful (and amazed) that my nail polish has lasted over a week and still looks decent. Revlon, you are genius.
I’m thankful for majaaa motivation in the form of hilarious advertisements.
I’m extremely thankful for all of the supportive and positive people in my life, including my friends and amazing parents.
They help when I’m feeling gloomy, which is very unnatural for me so I appreciate someone around to shake me back to happy/normal.
I mean you too, my lovely readers. I know I have a lot of lurkers out there, so please feel free to say hi. Or even tell me I stink. Pretty please? With a cherry on top?
I’m also really thankful for, well, Penpal.
Not to get all mushy and gooberish on ya’ll, but it’s true. He leaves very, very soon for a long-ish time to hang out in the Middle East and take care of some biz-nass on behalf of America, and I will be missing him.
What up, Disney World.
Who am I going to coerce into watching 12,000 episodes of 30 Rock with me while drinking red wine in the middle of the afternoon now? Or find to convince me it’s okay to fall asleep in the middle of other people’s living rooms because every moment is an opportunity to nap?
My roommate has a big job ahead of herself, clearly.
Okay, time to get some groceries and (hopefully) get my candy butt to the gym (see above photo for further motivation).
